New Warning for OTC Painkillers
In late April the Food and Drug Administration ordered drug maker to include new warnings on labels of over-the -counter pain medications. The risks include internal bleeding and liver damage. The warnings apply to acetaminophen (Tylenol and generic) and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen (Advil and generic) and naproxen (Aleve and generic), as well as to products such as cold medicines that combine those drugs with other ingredients.
